Description
LL-37 is a 37-amino acid cationic peptide, the only human member of the cathelicidin family, released by proteolytic cleavage from the precursor protein hCAP18. It is named for its two leading leucine residues and its length. The peptide adopts an amphipathic alpha-helix in the presence of membranes, separating hydrophobic and cationic faces. First characterized in the mid-1990s. Supplied as a white lyophilized powder, soluble in water. This product is strictly for research purposes only.
